Carry Cash - And Spend It Frequently!

Mon Aug 25 2025
The usual nonsense from so-called “experts”, advising against carrying much cash and urging people to use cards. Extensive travellers and cash users know better. Payment preferences need never be inhibited by any rules about how much cash can legally be carried. The danger is that the public pay heed to such “advice” and are swayed against carrying or using cash. Another....

The British Public Want To Be Able To Use Cash EVERYWHERE!

Mon Aug 18 2025
Nice article in the Daily Express. The Post Office Ltd research findings includes a list of thirty examples of where/when the British public like to use cash. That’s a long list. It’s simpler to conclude that members of the British public frequently choose to use cash, when and where they are allowed to do so. That’s explains why only 8% of people responded in LINK Scheme Ltd....

Lloyd’s Bank Cash Deposit Limits Woefully Inadequate!

Mon Aug 18 2025
Only £600 a MONTH can be deposited! Who are Lloyds Bank kidding? Far, far too low - and far too long delayed. How much credit does a surgeon deserve who carries out a minor procedure, knowing major surgery is required to save the patients life? The desire to limit what British citizens can do with their cash is what shines through from this low deposit ceiling. Around a decade ago, LINK....

Vietnam Government Targets Making Country A Digital Dictatorship!

Mon Aug 11 2025
There is a huge push by the government of Vietnam to eliminate cash use, basically reimagining this nominally “communist” country as a Digital Dictatorship. This hype claims that the country is second behind only China in terms of “cashless” transactions, which is almost certainly nonsense, given the population of Vietnam is only around 7% of its huge neighbour. Vietnam i....

Thousands of British Communities Lose Convenient Cash Access

Mon Aug 11 2025
What the graph show is that there are less than 35,000 Free-to-Use ATMs in the UK today. This means that 20,000 Free-to-Use ATMs have been lost since January 2018. A 36% fall, in addition to the 2 Bank Branches lost EVERY DAY in the same period. One impact of this massive reduction in ATM numbers is that around 4 million British adults face AT LEAST a two mile round trip to find free cash access....

UK Missing 1000 Banking Hubs!

Mon Aug 4 2025
The yawning shortfall in the number of Banking Hubs is undermining many communities around UK, though that will be no consolation to Sioned Williams in the Swansea Valley. Hundreds of communities that should have Banking Hubs are not simply getting them. Taking a wild guess, it would seem likely that by the end of 2025 LINK Scheme Ltd will have nominated slightly more than the 250 sites for Bank....

Kenyans Have More Cash Rights Than BRITS!

Mon Aug 4 2025
Kenya takes action to legally guarantee cash is accepted. Every one of the UK’s immediate neighbours has already taken steps in the same direction. Meantime in the UK, where a LINK Scheme Ltd survey just revealed that 71% of British adults see cash as vital for personal freedom, a government run by The Labour Party tries to maintain the position that the whim of individual businesses dicta....

Selling Payment Cards For Cash Is NOT Cash Acceptance!

Mon Jul 28 2025
Unfortunately, this sentence badly undermines the value of the potential US cash acceptance legislation: “The proposal provides an exception if there is "a device that converts cash into prepaid cards" without any fee.” The vast majority of those who WANT to use cash already have cards. They don’t WANT to buy another one using cash. I have seen this nonsense first hand in New....

LINK Ask The Right Questions About Cash Acceptance

Mon Jul 28 2025
Excellent survey carried out by YouGov for LINK Scheme Ltd. Congratulations to LINK for asking the right questions, ones the UK’s Regulators have NEVER asked. How about this for a verdict of the British public: “71% see cash as vital for personal freedom.” Or this “67% feel cash gives them the reassurance to fully understand the cost of what they are paying for.”....

“Cashless” Dead In India!

Mon Jul 28 2025
A quote about a rise in rural prosperity in India: “The significant increase in currency in circulation points to a strong recovery in rural economic activity". For all the strenuous efforts of the misguided Indian PM Modi to “demonitise” India, along with the hype about the digital payment system UPI, cash remains vital in India. “Cashless” is dead in India, thoug....

New NZ Cash Acceptance Law Shows The Time for UK “Monitoring” Is OVER!

Mon Jul 21 2025
HM Treasury says they are monitoring what is happening in other countries in relation to cash acceptance. In reality, Payment Choice Alliance - founded in 2014, three years before UK Finance - has been gathering international precedents for years and informing HM Treasury accordingly. New Zealand has now been added to the long list of countries where it has been recognised that the public requir....

The Royal Shakespeare Company MUST Accept Cash!

Mon Jul 21 2025
HM Treasury doesn’t seem to know the extent of the “cashless” problem in the UK? Luckily, the Payment Choice Alliance does. Take the Royal Shakespeare Company. Chaired by Shriti Vadera - who used to Chair Santander UK - the Royal Shakespeare Company accepted over £17.5 Million of the British publics money last year in the form of Government funded grants, via the Arts Co....

THE UK IS USING MORE CASH THAN EVER!

Mon Jul 14 2025
No wonder the Bank of England are prepared to invest in the design of banknotes - why wouldn’t they keep such a popular and relevant product fresh and interesting? In 2015, the Bank reported that there were £60 billion of banknotes in circulation. In 2025, this amount has jumped to £86 billion. Thats an increase of 43%, despite the slow down during the pandemic. Of course, if....

HM TREASURY ALREADY KNOWS EUROPE IS BANNING CASHLESS!

Mon Jul 14 2025
This was the headline on Saturday 12 July on the UK Treasury Committee website: “Bank of England commits to monitoring cash acceptance on an ongoing basis.” The Bank of Englands commitment to the “monitoring” of cash acceptance consists of, from 2025, expanding its data collection with a SINGLE new question seeking to understand the impact on an individual of a business re....

Cash Saves They Day - IF Accepted!

Mon Jul 7 2025
Cash ALWAYS works - IF accepted. Cineworld Cinemas go “cash only” in Ipswich, messaging their potential customers "Please do book your tickets at the tills as online booking are not going through currently.” Isn’t it lucky that we still have cash on which to rely. Cash, which NEVER crashes or necessitates the message: “Please do book your tickets online. Cash isn&rs....

Legislate NOW For UK Payment Choice.

Mon Jul 7 2025
Only 4.8% of businesses in the Netherlands refuse to accept cash - a much lower figure than in the UK - yet the Netherlands Government have passed legislation guaranteeing that the publics cash will be accepted. Why have the British Government, led by Keir Starmer, not given the British public a similar right? THEY NEED TO LEGISLATE NOW TO ADDRESS THIS OBVIOUS FAILURE. Also, isn’t it wond....

Payment Choice - Worth The Fight EVERYWHERE

Mon Jul 7 2025
Excellent article by Dan Vevers, Chief Reporter of the Scottish Sunday Mail. Scottish banknotes are seen by many Scots as part of their national heritage and identity. Since the Declaration of Arbroath in 1320 - “It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours, that we are fighting, but for freedom – for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself” - Sco....

The Lodger For Every UK Home- CASH!

Mon Jun 30 2025
Of course, everyone should keep some cash at home, if they can afford to do so. Systems failures are INEVITABLE. Cash ALWAYS works, as a payment method, store of value and means of exchange. Most of the cash nominally in circulation in the UK is actually already used as a store of value - in fact, more than £50 Billion of the £80 Billion plus of banknotes issued by the Bank of England....

More Proof That The Public WANT Cash!

Mon Jun 30 2025
These research findings from the Payment Systems Regulator are more proof that there is continued strong use of cash for payments by the British public, across the board. Those who seek to pretend that these figures are anything but strong evidence of the enduring public use of cash are simply being disingenuous. 37% of adults between 18 and 35 reporting that they used cash once or more in the l....
