What Jersey is doing must happen EVERYWHERE around the UK. It is an absolute disgrace that British  Local Authorities have allowed organisations like GREENWICH LEISURE LTD and Fusion Lifestyle to operate hundreds of “cashless” sports and leisure centres. These facilities are OWNED by Local Authorities. They ought to be offering ALL residents of the communities they serve Payment....

A Jet2.com and Jet2holidays  spokesperson told Travel Gossip: “We are always looking at ways at improving and enhancing our award-winning onboard experience and we are running this [“cashless”] trial with that in mind.” Eh?! “Cashless” enhances ZERO, apart from the profits of card schemes! Well done to City of York Council ! They consulted the public, listened - and changed their plans. All York car parks will NOT go “cashless”! In the last sentence of his article, this American professor states unequivocally that the simplest way of avoiding financial exclusion is to pass a law compelling businesses to accept cash. Cheshire East council is considering scrapping cash payments in car parks? They claim it would save £100k a year?
