PCA Chair Ron Delnevo was on the BBC again the other day, this time speaking to Phil Mercer on Radio Berkshire about how the county has lost so many cash access points, including ATMs and post offices.
Windsor now has no bank branches, with the Nationwide Building Society - a Mutual - the only financial services branch footprint, in a town with over 30,000 residents and visited by millions of tourists every year.
Ron pointed out to Phil that Berkshire’s own Mutual, the Newbury Building Society, has been serving the locals since 1856. It has nearly 80,000 Members - but there is surely room for more in a county with around 1 million residents.
Why not give a Mutual your business, if they continue to serve your local community brilliantly?
Berkshire certainly needs more ATMs - and in Rons talk with Phil Mercer he makes clear how this can be achieved!
