Vietnam Government Targets Making Country A Digital Dictatorship!

Posted on: 11/08/2025

There is a huge push by the government of Vietnam to eliminate cash use, basically reimagining this nominally “communist” country as a Digital Dictatorship.

This hype claims that the country is second behind only China in terms of “cashless” transactions, which is almost certainly nonsense, given the population of Vietnam is only around 7% of its huge neighbour.

Vietnam is a one party state, where disent is not tolerated and the media is completely controlled.

Despite the efforts of the government to undermine cash use, a recent survey revealed over 40% of payments are still made in cash.

Long may that continue.

A recent survey in the UK revealed that 71% of the British public believe that cash is vital for personal freedom.

Sadly, no such survey will ever be carried out in Vietnam, because personal freedom left Saigon, hanging onto a helicopter for dear life, in April 1975.

That battle was lost.

But the war against “cashless” continues and will be won in Western democracies, because personal freedom will NEVER be surrendered.
