An excellent, illuminating report from the European Central Bank.
One quote will do for now:
“Personal choice, together with the diversity of individual situations, may be more important than external constraints to explain cash usage”
CHOICE.
The thing the British “authorities” never want to talk about.
BUT the Payment Choice Alliance has pushed CHOICE onto the UK agenda, just as we have insisted that WANT - wanting to use cash - is even more important than NEED.
Over 40 million adults in the UK continue to use cash regularly because they WANT to exercise their CHOICE to do so.
Surely no government that ignores such strong British public opinion can hope to survive…
