The main thing to focus on in this article is this quote:
“Since 2019, people have voted with their feet and chosen the convenience of contactless payments, or shopping online. Today, 14 per cent of people say they never carry cash.”
When YouGov carried out a recent for the Payment Choice Alliance, only 13% of those interviewed said they wanted a “cashless” society.
So we are delighted that LINK Scheme Ltd have almost identical findings as the Payment Choice Alliance !
What these figures tell us is that 85%+ of British adults do NOT want a “cashless” UK - and in fact 71% told YouGov recently that they want a law, guaranteeing them the right to use their cash, when and where they choose; a UK Payment Choice Act.
And that is what the British public are going to get, before the end of 2025!
