That one word - WANT - signifies a great victory for the British public.
For years, the future of cash was framed as a diminishing NEED, with the underlying message being that soon cash wouldn’t be NEEDED, given all the marvellous payment innovations.
In 2023, when YouGov for the first time asked the British public what they WANTED in relation to cash, 71% responded that they WANT a law passed giving them the right to spend their cash, when and where they choose.
It seems the Bank of England is now intent on giving the British public what they WANT. And so are the Payment Choice Alliance!
