Britannia Impose “Cashless” And Deliver Terrible Customer Service!

Posted on: 06/01/2025

This is an absolutely shocking story.

Britannia Hotels Ltd have apparently decided to inflict “cashless” on customers at some or all of their 53 hotels.

At their hotel in Portland Street in Manchester on the 2nd of January 2025, a lady with mobility issues and memory difficulties was refused the right to make a £1.20 payment in cash and initially told her booking would not be honoured.

The lady was forced to go through a horrible ordeal, literally out on the street in the cold for a time, before finally gaining access to her room.

Alex Langsam, the CEO of Britannia Hotels, should be thoroughly ashamed of himself.

He should make a grovelling apology to his customer who was treated so appallingly AND order all Britannia Hotels to accept cash again immediately.

That means NOW, Alex.

And while you are at it, you can explain to Kevin Lee, Director of the Office of Andy Burnham, the Mayor of Greater Manchester, why a visitor to the wonderful city was subjected to such a terrible ordeal.
