Free-to-Use ATMs Forced to Start Charging the British Public to Access Their Cash

Independent ATM Operators are being forced to stop offering free cash withdrawals at ATMs because banks have drastically reduced over the years what they pay the Operators to allow bank customers to access cash at the UK’s Free-to-Use ATMs.

Most banks now hardly operate ATMs away from their own branches - and they have closed most of their branches - so if the public can’t get cash free at Independent ATMs, they won’t have any free access to cash at all.

This is all part of a strategy pursued by most banks of making cash harder for the public and businesses to access and deposit.

Those banks would like the UK to become a “cashless” society, whatever the needs and wishes of the British public.
