US Payment Choice Act On Path To Becoming Law

Posted on: 28/06/2023

Many cities and States in the United States already have their own Payment Choice laws.

Now Washington is looking to introduce a Federal Law that will mean all Americans have the right to spends their $’s, when and where they choose.

Meantime, the “Special Relationship” between the US and UK doesn’t appear to extend to a shared concern for the fundamental rights of citizens.

Put simply, why should Americans have the legal right to use their $’s, whereas Brits are denied the legal right to use their £’s?

Only Rishi Sunak knows the answer. The Prime Minister seems to be in a state of denial when faced with the fact that the recent YouGov/Payment Choice Alliance survey showed that over 70% of UK adults - that’s voters, Rishi - want a law passed to ensure they can spend their cash, when and where they choose.

Smell the coffee, Mr Sunak, the British public are not going to accept inferior rights to use cash than those enjoyed by their American cousins.

A UK Payment Choice Act is required.

NOW.

IN 2023.
